Edge: Lucid Dreamer (3)

Scientists are by nature an obsessive lot when working on a new invention. Some forgo food and work long hours into the night in order to advance their latest project. Unfortunately, there are only so many hours in a day, and the Scientist eventually must succumb to sleep. However, some Scientists are able to continue working in their dreams. They formulate theories and conduct experiments in a chimeral laboratory, allowing them to work almost twenty-four hours a day, if necessary. The Scientist understands that, while the surroundings are illusion, the developmental leaps possible there are very real.

This Edge reduces the amount of time required to create a Blueprint by one-quarter, because of the increased amount of work possible through the Scientist's remembered-dream research. An invention that should take one month to develop instead takes only three weeks. A device that requires a year of research instead takes just nine months.

If a Scientist takes both this Edge and the Night Terrors Hindrance, their dreams are filled with horrific, failed experiments that they cannot seem to escape. However, the amount of time required to create a Blueprint is still reduced by one-eighth, as even a failed experiment can provide important information to a trained mind such as the Scientist's.
